Welcome

Welcome to Ask Me NZ.

Ask Me NZ is an independently run platform, managed solely by its founder, that connects New Zealand and Japan mainly through Business, Community and Rugby.

In an era where AI can generate answers instantly, we believe that human connection, context, and trust matter more than ever.

That is why Ask Me NZ aims to go beyond “information sharing” and become a place where meaningful relationships and opportunities can naturally grow.

What Ask Me NZ Is

Ask Me NZ shares New Zealand-related knowledge and insights mainly for Japanese-speaking audiences, covering topics such as:

  • Life in New Zealand
  • Study and working holiday
  • Immigration and visas
  • Business and professional services
  • Travel, culture, and communities
  • Sport and local connections

We focus on practical and realistic content — based on real experiences and reliable context, not just generic summaries.

Why I Started Ask Me NZ

Ask Me NZ is run by me personally as an individual project.

I actively work on it on my own — building new connections, creating collaborations, and gradually shaping a community that can be meaningful to more people.

I have lived in New Zealand for over 10 years, and I am truly grateful to this country, its people, and the communities that have given my wife and our four children a safe and fulfilling environment to grow and enjoy life.

Through Ask Me NZ, I hope to give something back — by contributing in a way that connects Japan and New Zealand in a positive, practical, and trustworthy manner.

Keeping Information Accurate and Up to Date

New Zealand-related information changes constantly.

Even small updates in visa rules, policies, living conditions, or local practices can make decisions harder for people.

That is why I try to keep Ask Me NZ as accurate and up to date as possible.

At the same time, I also recognise the limits of what one person can track alone.

Working With Experts (and Why It Matters)

To continue improving the accuracy and freshness of the information on Ask Me NZ, I believe it is important to create a structure where trusted professionals and specialists can contribute their knowledge over time.

This is not just about collecting articles.

It is about building an ecosystem where reliable expertise can be shared, updated, and preserved — in a way that genuinely supports people who need it.

Three Key Themes I’m Focusing On

As I continue to grow Ask Me NZ, there are three areas that feel especially important to me:

【Three Key Themes at this moment】

  • Connecting Japanese small and medium-sized businesses with NZ
  • Connecting Japan’s regional companies/communities with NZ
  • Connecting Japanese rugby communities with NZ rugby communities

These themes represent the kind of cross-border bridges I would like Ask Me NZ to help create — carefully and step by step, in a way that brings value to both sides.
